Convocation
All the singers and pianists selected are expected on Monday, April 7th, 2025 at 6pm at Clermont-Ferrand Opera-Theatre for a check of their registration followed by the draw of the order of passage to the trials from 7pm.
Any late arrival or other artistic commitment will result in the exclusion of the candidate.

Pianists
Depending on the number of candidates, one or two accompanying pianists and a harpsichordist are available for rehearsals and trials. No private accompaniment will be accepted, except for the piano/voice duo.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will begin on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 9:00 am and the schedule will follow the order of the draw that took place on Monday, April 7
Trials
Trials are public. The order of presentation throughout the competition will follow the order of the draw conducted on Monday, April 7, 2025.
First round
April 8th- 9th, 2025 / 14:00 – 17:00 and 20:00 – 23:00
Each candidate and Duo sing an aria chosen by Clermont Auvergne Opera in the candidate’s program and communicated during the validation of their registration in February 2025 (total duration: 10 minutes maximum). Each candidate (Dido and Aenas and/or Der Messias) will present a text spoken in French for a total of up to 2 minutes. The jury reserves the right to ask the candidate for an additional air chosen from their audition program. The piano/vocal duo will present their text in French or English for a maximum of 2 minutes before their performance.
Semi-finals
April 10th, 2025 / 14:00 – 17:00 and 20:00 – 23:00
The semi-finals will include a time for artistic and musical work in the form of a workshop based on the projects auditioned and a time on stage where each candidate and Duo sing an aria chosen by the jury from the candidate’s program. Total duration: 10 minutes maximum.
The jury reserves the right to ask the candidate for an additional aria from their audition program. The chorus “To the hills and the valleys” will be sung by all candidates who are auditioning for Dido & Æneas.
Final
April 12th, 2025 / 15:00
Each candidate and Duo sing an aria chosen by the jury from the candidate’s program. Total duration: 10 minutes maximum.
The jury reserves the right to ask the candidate for an additional aria from their audition program and/or the oral text in French (Dido and Aenas and/or Der Messias).
The Competition organization reserves the right to modify the course of the trials and rehearsals and will keep candidates informed of any changes.
